AlcaPure ZIP Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter

Knowing about these types of filters, I was pleasantly surprised to see the sleek, modern design of the new AlcaPure Zero Installation Purifier Reverse Osmosis Countertop Water Filter.

A lot of the reverse osmosis filters are just downright ugly, take up a lot of space in your cupboards, waste a lot of water, and take too much time to install.

This is even simpler than our coffee machine.

The Zero Installation Purifier recycles the wastewater until there’s nothing left worth keeping!

I like the single button operation. It means you can have instant pure water without getting confused about which button you should or shouldn’t be pressing.

Perfect for Condos, RVs, and Apartments.

Its four-stage filtration technology is very thorough and I’ll talk more about that in a minute.

So much stuff goes into our waterways and ultimately into our drinking water. Whether it’s just sand and sediment, or something more sinister like chlorine and pesticides. Removing 99% of them in the water makes a difference to the taste and health of our water.

With an AlcaPure Zero Installation Purifier you can do away with the need for bottles of water and this water will taste so much better.

One of the great features of this system is the fact that you get to choose which filter you have in the final stage. One has Calcium and Minerals going into it and the others for Zero T.D.S which I think is a fantastic idea as I personally know a few people with health issues that have this option will benefit.

Before I break down a few more of the features in greater detail, here’s a shortlist of some of the pros and cons to think about.

Pros

  • Removes over 99% of contaminants and puts back essential minerals
  • Two choices of final stage filtration depending on your needs
  • Modern, stylish and compact
  • Takes up very little room
  • Uses less power than a light bulb
  • The plastic is BPA free
  • No assembly and no installation required
  • No connection to any plumbing whatsoever – completely independent unit
  • Makes ordinary tap water extraordinarily nice
  • Easy to change filters when replacing them

Cons

    • Not portable – Requires power (but still RV worthy!)
    • Top and bottom water containers need regular cleaning to stop them from getting dirty.

Features You’ll Value

Zero installation

This has got to be one of the easiest reverse osmosis water filters I’ve found. Put it on the counter, plug it in, fill it with water and turn it on!

Absolute plug and play.

Of course, this means that it’s 100% portable and can go where you go, or work where you work. Throw it in the RV and head off on holidays without having to worry about buying bottled water.

Not only that, but it looks good!

I was impressed with the modern design and even color options!

It will leave you plenty of space on your bench at just W 9.5″, L 14.5″, H 16.25″.

99% Contaminant removal

With 4 stages of filtration, the Zero Installation Purifier takes it all out and even puts some back in! Removing Fluoride, Chlorine, Heavy Metals, and others, and giving you back Calcium and Magnesium for your health and taste.

Being a reverse osmosis system it does take water to make water. Purification is done at a ratio of 1:1. In other words, it has a 50% recovery rate of the wastewater.

Filtered water made simple

As the reverse osmosis process is very thorough removing contaminants (99%), it can take around 15 minutes to filter Half a gallon of water. This is not really an issue if you simply fill it up, turn it on, and then walk away and go about your business.

The purified water fills up in the top container and the unit will turn itself off.

Ready to go.

Easy to change filters

The removal of one screw on the back of the unit will allow the back cover to come off and that reveals the four filters.

There are a few tubes to tangle with, but nothing over the top.

Just a push and a twist and they’re in.

Another good thing about it is that it has a red flashing light to let you know when the filter needs changing.

3 of the filters will need to be changed every 12 months while the fourth is just every 2-4 years.

Four advanced stages of filtration

The five-micron sediment filter traps larger particles like sand, sediment, and rust.

The Coconut-based activated carbon block filter is stage two and gets rid of harmful residues (like pesticides) and carcinogens. This one removes foul odors and bad taste.

Stage three is the reverse osmosis membrane. This is where the rubber meets the road. It’s kind of the whole point of the machine. The heart of the reverse osmosis system…

I’m sure you get the picture.

At 75 gallons per day, it’s enough to keep you going with purified water.

Stage four you have a choice. You can either remove all the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), or you can put back the Calcium and Magnesium.

Whatever is the best outcome for your needs. Some people need all the TDS removed for health reasons, some don’t.

Gives essential minerals back into the water

Calcium and Magnesium are beneficial minerals for our bodies and they also add a little good taste back into the water once it’s been stripped of all the nasty stuff.

What Consumers Say

Here’s some feedback on what those who have purchased the AlcaPure Zero Installation Purifier Reverse Osmosis Countertop Water Filter are saying about it.

  • This is a great product!
  • It has been very easy to use and was pretty much ready to go out of the box.

Cons

  • Requires electrical supply

Conclusion

The Zero Installation Purifier has a lot of great benefits and is definitely one to keep on the shortlist if you’re in the market for a simple to use reverse osmosis system.

It’s modern, stylish, and purifies water. It can even fit in fairly tight places as the water is loaded and dispensed from the front.

Within about 15 minutes you’ll have half a gallon of beautifully filtered water ready for use.

With its own professional-looking dispenser on the front, it doesn’t require another tap, it just makes it so easy.

Do away with the pitcher sitting on the countertop and put one of these up there instead. They look great and the water tastes so much better.
